Melissa Oneil

MelissaMelissa Crystal O'Neil (born July 12, 1988[1]) is a Canadian actor and singer. In 2005, O'Neil won the third season of Canadian Idol, the first Canadian female to have ever won. O'Neil is primarily known as an actress due to her role on Syfy as Two or Rebeccaas Two / Rebecca / Portia Lin as well as on ABC as Officer Lucy Chen in the ABC procedural drama series The Rookie. She was placed in the bottom three and two contestants were eliminated. After being shocked, judges recommended that viewers vote Melissa O'Neil, who was clearly the most vocal contestant. O'Neil's performance was consistently praised and O'Neil didn't fall back into the bottom 3. Zack Werner, the judge, declared O'Neil "a threat to win everything". O'Neil, along with Rex Goudie, made it to the finals on September 7 in 2005. Werner, a judge famously announced that the headlines in the following day's papers would be "The King [Kalan Porter] has passed away. The Queen will live forever." O'Neil defeated Goudie during the grand finale results shows on September 14, 2005 , to be named Canada's third Idol.
