Anamaria Marinca is an Romanian actress. Her debut was on the large screen on Sex Traffic by Channel 4 in which she won the British Academy Television Award was given for the Best Actress. She speaks fluently French, German and English. Her mother played the violin The father of her is a theater professor in one of Romania's best acting schools. In the Mangalia Gala of Young Actors, she won the Best Female Actor Award 2000. It was the European Film Promotion Board named her as a European Shooting Star in 2008. She starred in the Romanian film 4 luni 3 saptamani si 2 zile (4 months, 3 weeks and 2 Days) directed by Cristian Mungiu. It received the Palme d'Or at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival and two other awards (the Cinema Prize of the French National Education System and the FIPRESCI award). Also, she was on The Francis Ford Coppola film Youth Without Youth. She portrayed Yasim Awar in BBC's 5-episode The Last Enemy miniseries. Marinca is a regular on Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven and the Romanian drama Boogie. In the feature film Fury (2014) in which she appeared as Irma she was the German woman who served as Emma's aunt.
